I came across this lovely little idea last week
The idea is that you write an anonymous letter, card or note to a person and leave it in a public place for someone to find
The letter can be about anything
It could be a love letter telling the person how great they are
It could be inspirational
It could be encouraging
It could be a post it left on a mirror in a public bathroom simply saying 'You are beautiful'
Most of all it should be positive and life affirming
I wrote one last weekend and left it in a car park ticket machine
I checked it a couple of hours later and it was gone so I hope someone found it
This weekend I wrote another one
I think I'll leave it in a cafe
I think it's such a simple but brilliant idea
Imagine finding one of these letters
I know if it was me it would make my day
I have not done this or even thought of it but man, it sounds fun! I love giving random strangers a compliment. It comes out of nowhere and I think it really brightens their day. Good on ya!
ReplyDeleteThat's such an amazing idea. I know that if I found a letter like that it would really cheer me up, you're so kind.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're doing okay. Love you.
This is such a great idea! I'm definitely doing this.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really good idea! My mom's friend used to pay for someone's soda at the gas station. She would just leave money and told the clerk that the next person after her that came in and bought something to eat or drink would have it paid for. Then she'd leave. No thanks. I always loved that. I don't know why but I'm really concerned about the homeless. I realize some do it to themselves or live off of others but one man was pretty well spoken, reading a book, and a nice guy and I bought him lunch. Really grateful and humble guy. I don't think we do acts of kindness enough. We reserve them for people we know and we don't tell them we love them or show we appreciate them enough either.
ReplyDeleteYou're such a sweetheart, Ruby. <3
I love this idea, and actually last semester we did a campisgn of sticky notes around cammpus, and it was a huge hit. I've never actually found one randomly in public, but I hope I do one day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! You have such a big heart Ruby.
ReplyDeleteSending you love & hugs <3 xx
Oh my goodness...what a lovely idea! I am going to do it too!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea. I definitely want to try this. Litter london with letters.Xo
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing idea!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to figure out a way to tell one of my patients that I believe in her and I think she can overcome her issues and really live life. This migh be a good way to say it. I don't want to say anything and upset her but I do believe she is strong, thanks Ruby!
ReplyDeleteAh, Ruby, we all know that you're a sweetheart, and this little act of kindness will help spread the love and beauty around :) I myself like to compliment random strangers in the streets but have never took the next step-- writing an actual letter...it's getting warmer outside, the spring's coming, and people will be sitting on benches in the city in no time-- and so next time I'll go for a walk, I'll make sure I leave a little note on one of those benches, hoping someone will pick it up and have a nicer day.
ReplyDeleteLots of love to you, darling.
You're so wonderful :-*
Such a lovely letter! If only more people would remember that kindness makes the world go round maybe there'd be a little more peace on this planet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing to do! I'm sure it really brightens the day of whoever receives the message. Way to spread the positivity!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome, I'll have to start doing that!
ReplyDeleteI discovered Project Beautiful a few years back and started leaving notes around the ladies' loos at the Uni. It was so much fun :D
