Any where between 300 - 1000
I look at my statistics and see that people from the four corners of the earth read it
From the U.S. to Australia
From the UK to Singapore
From Spain to Mexico
However
I only really know a small percentage of you
And only a small percentage of that actually leave a comment
Of course I know some of you
The regulars you might call them
And I look forward to hearing from you each post
But today I want to reach out to those of you that don't comment
You silent readers
Or lurkers
Whether you read every day
Or drop by from time to time
Whether you have commented before
Or never commented at all
If you have an eating disorder
Or some other mental illness
If like me you struggle with addiction
Or are trying to maintain your sobriety
If you comment anonymously
Or use a fake name
If you are lonely
Afraid
If you feel like you are dying inside
Or maybe you are embracing recovery
If you read to relate
Or you read and count your lucky stars you're not like me
Maybe you don't like me
Maybe you are one of those anonymous commenters who gives me a hard time
Whoever you are
And where ever you are from
I Invite you today to come out of the shadows
And let me know who you are
What your name is
Why you read
Why you visit my blog
Why you agree or disagree with me
I invite you to introduce yourself
I'd love to meet you......
Hi! I'm H and I blog very inconsistently on wordpress. I'm 32 and have had an ED (a nice spectrum of varieties) and depression for about 20 years. I've been seeking help for the past four years and I'm getting there, slowly but surely. It's a bit of a bumpy road though as you know! I started reading your blog a long time ago and I check in most days- I love your honesty and I genuinely want to see how you're doing- even though I don't actually know you....hmmm, when I write it like that it seems a bit weird! I'l try comment more often now I'm out of the shadows :)
ReplyDeleteHey there,
DeleteThanks for your comment
And for supporting me and my blog
I just love to hear from readers old and new
It is a bumpy road to say the least
But we will get there
We are determined and stubborn people
I'll look forward to hearing from you again
Take care x
Hi Ruby,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Melanie. I'm eating disordered, not in recovery. I love your blog and I read it every day and I have for a long time. I love your blog not because you're perfect, but because you're not. You try, and sometimes you stumble, but you always, always get back up again. You're a fighter and you've got grit and you inspire me and you remind me that it's ok not to be perfect all the time, none of us are.
Melanie
Hey Melanie,
DeleteThanks for your comment and your support
You are so right
I am far from perfect
But I'm glad that this blog can help people just like you
That's exactky why I write
Much love x
I guess I fit into this category, although I have commented here once or twice.
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm Dorcha Aingeal and I infrequently blog about whatever happens to be on my mind at any particular point in time. I found your blog a long time ago and have been following it since. I'm always glad to see anyone in the blogosphere trying to recover because I can't even begin to imagine how hard that must be. I have always seen you as a strong person, and I enjoy your unique writing style.
So greetings from a lurker,
From, Dorcha Aingeal
Hey dark angel,
DeleteOf course
I remember you and your beautiful name
You have commented before
Thank you for reading and commenting
I always love to hear from people who follow my story
I must check out your blog

I am Ellie. I have been reading your blog since you started writing. I come check for updates every day. I have an ED and chronic PTSD. I have commented a couple of times before but never gotten a response (which is completely fine).
ReplyDeleteI have never commented anonymously, nor would I. I do like you, quite a bit and would (and have offered) love to be a support for you if I can. I quit smoking 4 months ago and you have been my biggest inspiration for that, so thank you.
I read your blog because I greatly admire you. You have shown strength and determination which few have. I would be proud to know you.
Loving thoughts from Canada
